Galvanized, strong and just the right length. We usually purchase in pairs as most kites need to have the handles set to provide the correct amount of brake to make the kite sit nicely, especially in turbulent wind. We also have spares for the buggy and for our scabbards. Invaluable on sand in anything but the very lightest of breezes providing much more resistance than the pin type stakes.
The stakes come with a fabric streamer to help make them more visible and identifies wind direction. Do ensure that you remove the stake from the ground when you launch your kite to remove the chance of tripping over, falling on or driving over what can become a dangerous obstacle.
Having never bent one of these stakes, or had them go rusty, I think that they are worth every one of the 100 pennies! They are very popular so write your name on them near the top with a marker pen!
